Latin Name: Melanogrammus Aeglefinus
Harvest Area: Newfoundland to Southern New England,
Norway, Iceland & U.K.
Seasons: Available year round. Primary fishing
season in the N. Atlantic is during winter months.
Characteristics: A silver-grey fish with a dark
lateral line running the length of the fish. A delicate, white-fleshed
fish, lighter than cod.
Grade/Pack: Generally sold skin on and fresh.
Smaller than cod, whole fish range is 2-5 lbs.
